These are some of the questions, that will be discussed on our second international VLB Packaging Conference (VPC), taking place from Aug 30 to Sep 1, 2022, ONLINE at our VLB Virtual Campus.

Hot Topics: Sustainability and Digitalization

We will talk about new products like cardboard multipacks, returnable crates made from alternative plastic and smart packaging. Moreover, we talk about digital printing on cans and the use of tethered caps. Experts from the brewing industry will share their experiences with the use of PET kegs. In addition, we will have a dialog about the use of recycled PET (rPET) for beverage containers.

Challenge Glass Shortage – What are the Options?

Currently the European market is faced with the problem of glass shortage and increasing cost for bottles. As a result, many beverage and food producers are focusing on new returnable systems and close loop innovations. On our virtual conference new ideas and practical solutions will be discussed. We are in the unique position to talk to industry experts in the beverage industry through our multi-approach in research, lecturing, consulting of craft-; industrial brewers, beverage producers and anchor bottlers.

The VLB Packaging Conference takes place just 2 weeks before the drinktec (12-16 Sep, Munich). So both, brand owners as well as suppliers, are invited to connect virtually on our conference before meeting face-to-face at the trade fair in Munich.

Die VLB-Fachtagung Getränkeverpackung und Ladungssicherung (GeLa) beschäftigt sich mit den verschiedenen Verpackungsprozessen von Getränken und deren Sicherung beim Transport. Die Themen reichen von der Primärverpackung, über die Sekundärverpackung und Transportverpackung, deren Einflüsse auf die Stabilität der Ladeeinheit sowie Einsatz zusätzlicher Ladungssicherungshilfsmittel.

In Vorträgen wird auf einzelne Packmittel, Verpackungsprozesse und Ladungssicherungshilfsmittel eingegangen, in dem praktischen Teil werden Fahrversuche mit verschiedenen Ladeeinheiten durchgeführt. Zielsetzung ist eine Entwicklung von nachhaltigen Verpackungslösungen, bei denen Design und Sicherheit im Einklang sind. Berichte aus der Praxis geben Einblick für Lösungsansätze.

Die VLB-Jahrestagung (vormals VLB-Oktobertagung) findet am 10./11. Oktober 2022 im Hotel Berlin statt

Zukunftsfähige Energiekonzepte, Brauereiprozesse neu gedacht und Aktuelles aus VLB-Forschungsprojekten sind die Themen der diesjährigen VLB-Jahrestagung. Ebenfalls im Programm das 51. Braugersten-Seminar: Dort werden die Herausforderungen von Energiekosten und Klimawandel für unsere Branche diskutiert.

Unsere Jahrestagung fasst unsere bis 2019 durchgeführte Brau- und maschinentechnische Arbeitstagung und die Oktobertagung zusammen. Sie beinhaltet die Technische Veranstaltung, das Braugersten-Seminar, die Sitzungen des Technisch-Wissenschaftlichen Ausschusses (TWA) sowie die VLB-Mitgliederversammlung.

Die Veranstaltung wird von einer Fachausstellung begleitet.

After a very successful kick-off event in 2019 at the VLB and a continuation, the VLB Virtual Campus in spring 2021, we are again in the planning for 2022 with a face-to-face event for the 3rd SAFB here at the VLB Berlin to this ongoing topic.

Through a program of selected experts and representatives from science, industry and regulators, the international participants are to be brought up to date with the latest research and relevant aspects of sour fermented non-alcoholic beverages.

We look forward to being able to offer you (under the necessary hygiene rules) a 2-day event with informative lectures, an interesting trade exhibition, a sociable evening event, various drinks and above all an intensive exchange.

The number of participants is limited to 120 (depending on the time of registration; first come, first served!)

SAFB participants have the opportunity to receive a practical introduction to the application of flow cytometric methods for quality assurance in beverage production. This workshop, organized in cooperation with Sysmex Deutschland GmbH, will take place on the afternoon of Monday, May 23rd and is free of charge for participants of the SAFB.
