VLB Berlin gained further new members in 2023

In the course of 2023, VLB Berlin was again able to welcome some new members. 11 companies from Germany, Denmark and the USA joined the VLB network. VLB was also able to expand its membership on the African continent. Fortunately, the West African Union Camerounaise de Brasseries (UCB) joined in the summer.

Kehrwieder Kreativbrauerei, Hamburg
Since its founding in 2011, the small, independent family brewery from Hamburg-Sinstorf has already brewed over 100 different beers and has received over 40 international awards for its work. Kehrwieder is one of the first generation of creative breweries in Germany and is a founding member of the German Creative Brewers Association (Verein Deutsche Kreativbrauer e.V.). In addition, Kehrwieder is a training company, an environmental partner of the city of Hamburg and positions itself with its "No Beer for Nazis Campaign" against any kind of exclusion and racism and supports social and community engagement.

UWE MÜLLER GmbH & Co. KG, Lossburg-Betzweiler
Since the company was founded in 1993, Uwe Müller GmbH has been developing and producing private labels in the field of liqueurs and spirits for well-known European retail groups. The new recipes are produced in the laboratory and regularly tested by independent institutes. Founded in 1972, Union Camerounaise de Brasseries is one of the first brewing companies in Cameroon and the largest Cameroonian-owned brewing company. SA-UCB produces thousands of hectolitres of beer every month, which is marketed in glass bottles, PET bottles and kegs. In addition to its own three beer brands, Union Camerounaise de Brasseries also produces a range of soft drinks and a mineral water brand.

Sophus Fuglsang Export Malt Factory A/S produces high quality malt. Mainly for export, but also for Danish breweries. When the Dragsbaek Malt Factory in Northern Denmark joined the Fuglsang Group in 2006, they increased the total capacity to 157,000 tonnes. New Belgium Brewing Company, Fort Collings, USA (incl. Bell's)
Following the acquisition of long-time VLB member Bell's Brewery in Michigan, USA, New Belgium Brewery has decided to intensify its cooperation with the VLB again and extend its membership to both breweries from this year. Both Bell's and New Belgium are among the pioneers of the craft beer scene in the USA. In the meantime, both companies belong to the Japanese Kirin Group via the Australian Lion.
