Brewing Technology Remastered

A one-week update on latest developments for professionals from the international brewing and beverage industry.

You will expect a comprehensive week with plenty of news and information concerning professional brewing technology and filling - organised and hosted by the VLB Berlin. Participants will join our international October Convention inlcuding the International Malting Barley Seminar followed by a three-day seminar about up-to-date topics from brewing and beverage technology, filling & quality and more… 

Course outline
This one-week course offers the perfect opportunity for further training of representatives from the international brewing and beverage industry. The combination of a renowned brewing convention with an advanced seminar completed by a supplier session is worldwide unique and offers a maximum benefit for each attendee.
The course language is English, all presentations of the October Convention will be translated simultaneously from German into English.

Who should attend
This advanced course is addressed to managers from the international brewing industry who want to refresh and deepen their knowledge about the technology of brewing, filling and beverage production. Knowledge of the brewing processes as well as practical experience are assumed.

Course schedule

  • Sunday
    Evening: Get-together of all seminar participants and joining the official Get-together of the VLB October Convention at the Hotel Berlin
  • Monday
    Morning: Open Technology Session: New applications and solutions from the supply industry
    Experts from leading companies from the supply industry introduce their latest developments and solutions for the brewing and beverage industry. This session runs concurrently to the subgroup meetings of the VLB’s Technical Scientific Committee on Monday morning.
    Afternoon: October Convention - Technical Session
    Together with about 400 individuals from the brewing sector you will be attending the International VLB October Convention which starts on Monday afternoon. The Technical Sessions on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning will be translated simultaneously into English. The presentations are focused on latest developments from brewing and filling technology with a strong practical relevance. The speakers come from scientific institutions, associations and the brewing and supply industry.

  • Tuesday
    Morning: October Convention - Technical Session
    Afternoon: International Malting Barley Seminar with latest issues about brewing barley and malt (quality, supply, analytics)
  • Wednesday
    Extended Technology & Scientific Sessions: New trends and insights in brewing and beverage technology, filling and quality - Part 1
    From Wednesday to Friday the seminar will be continued at the VLB Berlin. Senior experts and scientists from the VLB present and discuss new topics from brewing technology, quality/analytics, sustainability, filling/packaging, beverage production and others. All with a focus on the practice of specific areas of the brewing and filling process.
  • Thursday
    Extended Technology & Scientific Sessions: New trends and insights in brewing and beverage technology, filling and quality - Part 2
    Afternoon: Technical visit of a brewery
  • Friday
    Extended Technology & Scientific Sessions: New trends and insights in brewing and beverage technology, filling and quality - Part 3
    Evening: Farewell and distribution of the seminar certificates

Attendance fee & accommodation
The fee for this one-week course is 2500 Euro plus German VAT. The fee includes all course materials, lunch, refreshments and the by-programme.
Accommodation has to be booked separately. Depending on your requirements we can arrange hotel accommodation in different categories.
A non-refundable deposit of 500 Euro is due with acceptance to the programme. The total balance is due one week before the beginning of the course. The fee may either be paid by bank transfer, credit card or cheque.
